Since their first self titled debut album, The Used, has come a long way to become the band they are today. Their new CD, Lies for the Liars, is the best we have yet to see from the quartet. This record includes tracks that new fans and old "die-heart" fans can both enjoy. Some songs on this new release are a throw back to The Used's harder styles from past CDs and range to the new more power pop beats and soft emotional ballads. This variation in musical styles assures this record has the perfect for a hit and from what we have seen so far, it is a hit.
Being a devout Used fan myself, I assure you this new record is not a disappointment. In songs such as "Liar, Liar", "The Bird and the Worm", and "Pretty Handsome Awkward", we are able to see the changes from past CDs, but there are still no let downs. The Used has enough songs from recording on the record, which were not used, to make 2 EPs, which will be released later this year. All of lyrics touch on every type of emotion in true Used fashion to make this CD another hit for the record books.
