Sixx AM
‘The Heroin Diaries’

By Sarah Boger (Sarah@bandvibe.com)
Dated: 08/25/07

After the tell all book about the drugs and days of Mötley Crüe Nikki Sixx has released Sixx AM ‘The Heroin Diaries’. It opens with a soft spoken word track ‘X-mass in Hell’ that tells a story of horrible holidays and even worse choices. Being more than just a ‘CD’ and more of a soundtrack to follow the book, aptly named ‘The Heroin Diaries’, it does a good job at the start of telling the story as it would run along the book. It’s filled with anger, sadness, hate, greed and music that may just have you thinking Mr. Sixx is better off solo. Sixx lets one into his personal journal on the track ‘Intermission’, and it leaves the listener thinking more deeply that any other track on the album. I great mix of raw emotional music and spoken word truths that you wont find anywhere else. Lyrics are the most important part of this album, ‘Oh, no: How could this happen to such an amazing young boy? I had my whole life ahead of me.’ From ‘Dead Man’s Bullet’ tell you a little more about how he had to have been feeling. Showcasing his new band and the new talent that he’s found was a great way to set up this duo CD-book combo.

Look for the book ‘The Heroin Diaries’ out September 18th 2007. I know I will.
