Madina Lake
‘From them, Through Us, To You’

The second album from the post-hardcore four piece from Chicago delivers its pop-punk sound in a style you’ve heard before. The ever popular screaming vocals making way to the soft sing-songy vocals that switches without notice. With rough guitars and bass lines, they bring it all together in a cohesive package. With sad love song like lyrics like, “I wish I was strong enough to breathe without you” and “I knew someday you’d find someone else’s lips” paired with emo lyrics like “She wraps her tragic moments tightly around her neck”, you get a feeling of sorrow and pain that flows from one song to the next. With quick change ups and a use of sound programming, Madina Lake has tried some new things on this album. Some of them worked rather well and some others fell short of the mark, but they’ll come back with hard work and show us all something new.
