Bayside
‘The Walking Wounded’

By Sarah Boger (Sarah@bandvibe.com)
Dated: 05/02/07

True to their punk rock roots, Bayside doesn’t slack off on their third album from Victory Records. It has everything from ska riffs to raw guitar. Lyrics saturated with emotion tell a story of things gone wrong. The title track with it’s sound reminiscent of a carnival, starts the album in its story telling path. Colorful analogies like ‘she is a termite eating away at my roots’ & ‘they’re asking for my head on a plate’ run constantly along side the raw emotion that springs forth with deep bass lines. After a tragic van accident in 2005 that wounded bassist Nick Ghanbarian and killed drummer John Holohan, Bayside rises from the proverbial ashes with their strongest, most uplifting album to date.
