Q1. Tell us a little about how Malachi Crunch got started.
We started in 1996 in Seattle and moved to SD in 2000.
Q2. What is the definition of “Malachi Crunch”?
It's from happy Day's. The Malachi brothers were demolition drivers and there signiture move was the Malachi Crunch.
Q3. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
We have a bunch of different influences. A few are Deftones,Spineshank, SOAD, Avenged Sevenfold, Jeff Buckley. We listen to a little bit of everything so it's a good mix of musical influences.
Q4. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
Our songs are about emotion. Everything I write or sing about is real. We have songs about Life, love, self hate, Insecurities, and realizations. It's anger marinading in despair.
Q5. What advice would you give to fellow bands?
Keep on keepin on. This industry is a bitch. It's hard and demanding but it's also fun as hell. Just try to get out and play different clubs and different cities. Get out there and promote,promote,promote...
Q6. Which band(s) would you like to go on a world tour with?
Avenged Sevenfold would be cool. tool, Pantera, We'll anyband that asked us to go on a world tour with them we'd go.
Q7. Do you have a particular ritual you do before performing on stage?
Jager blaster and a coors lite bottle.
Q8. What inspires to you to do what you do?
The release. The freedom to confront your emotions 3 or more days a week is powerful. Instead of hiding how I feel i get to tell whoever's in the crowd what's on my mind. It's great therapy.
Q9. How does music affect you and the world around you?
Music is my world. If there wasn't music I would not be here.
Q10. Tell us what’s in store for Malachi Crunch in 2006.
We're recording some new songs that we will be shopping around. Then a little tour starting in March to April. Then hopefully taking over the world.....
