Q1. Tell us a brief history of Mother Mae I.
Mother Mae I began writing music in July 2002. After a year of composing, rehearsing and honing their stage act, they have emerged onto the San Diego scene to unleash their live act. They've been invited to play for such bands as "The Kidney Thieves"," Unwritten Law" and "SX-10," and were also slated to be on FM 94.9's Ganesh Fest, unfortunately cancelled due to the San Diego fires. Since the arrival of new vocalist Travis Neal, Mother Mae I has been hitting the scene hard with out letting up. They have played with national acts Bleed The Sky and My Ruin as well as a spot on the The Vans Warped Tour with some of the best act's in the scene. Taking what they can from the anger filled world that surrounds them, Mother Mae I projects a unique energy in expressing themselves, musically as well as visually!

Q2. Who are your musical influences?
WOW! We all come from different backgrounds, I would say Otis Redding to decide. It’s hard to say

Q3. What are your songs about?
A lot of emotion and anger as well as perseverance.

Q4. What are your music career goals in the next 5 years?
To make the best music that we can, and tour, tour, tour!!

Q5. Do you have a demo or press kit, or any promotional materials?
We have a 5 song E.P. that is due out in early march. The press kit is in the making as well, We want something that represents us well and that will make people want to check us out..

Q6. You had won the Battle of the Bands over at Brick by Brick in 2005, which was the ticket to your spot on the 2005 Van’s Warped Tour, how was your experience playing at the Warped Tour?
It was good. We got to see a lot of great bands and meet a lot of great people. We'll also got to see how big tours like that work and all the headaches that come with touring in those kind of tours. Overall, it was a learning experience.

Q7. What are your other hobbies besides music?
Graphic arts, Sportbike riding

Q8. Complete this sentence. “Mother, may I…”
Yes you may!

Q9. What would you say is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned over in 2005?
Research recording studio's and engineers more before going to a studio because of it's reputation.

Q10. What should we expect of Mother Mae I in 2006?
It's hard to say, I'd like to say big things but that would sound egotistic. I guess I should say "I guess we'll see.."
